Josh Cohen is with PGIM. Highly regarded throughout the industry and a recognized DC thought leader, Josh is a member of the Department of Labor’s ERISA Advisory Council, a 15-member council providing advice on policies and regulations affecting employee benefit plans governed by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. Josh is also actively involved with other industry organizations such as the Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association (DCIIA) and the Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI). In 2013, Josh was ranked 10th on aiCIO’s list of the most influential investment thought leaders worldwide.
An established voice on DC issues and regular author of research papers, Josh often lends his expertise on a wide variety of topics, most recently focused on identifying the steps plan sponsors can take to evolve and enhance their DC programs. Other notable topics include his work on plan design, automatic enrollment strategies designed to overcome investor inertia, the role of alternatives in defined contribution programs, and the next generation of target date investing.
Prior to joining Russell in 2005, Josh spent nine years at Hewitt (now Aon Hewitt) where he consulted to large defined contribution plan sponsors. Prior to leaving this firm, Josh led the defined contribution investment consulting practice team.
Josh is a member of the CFA Institute and the Investment Analyst Society of Chicago.
