Erin Donnelly is responsible for leading Nuveen’s Defined Contribution Investment Only business, which delivers the firm’s expertise and capabilities in the retirement market to 401(k), 403(b) and 457 plans. Since being acquired by TIAA in 2014, Nuveen has been building its presence in the investment only market, leveraging its heritage in serving plan sponsors, plan participants and the consultants who advise them. In her role, Erin oversees the firm’s strategy in the retirement plan space as well as the business development effort across market segments. Erin also actively participates in the retirement product development effort at the company, including the development of QDIA and income solutions for the 401(k) market.
Erin is a distinguished business development executive and leader with more than 20 years of experience in financial services, investment management and insurance. She has a track record of catalyzing businesses to adapt to changing market conditions and to achieve broader reach to the clients they are serving. Since joining Nuveen in 2014, Erin has been a driver of Nuveen’s evolution to expand its reach in investment management while optimizing teams to deliver results.
Since joining Nuveen in 2014, Erin has partnered with its parent company, TIAA, to explore growth synergies and drive innovation. Prior to joining Nuveen, Erin worked for Merrill Lynch leading a variety of domestic and international business platforms, including fund solutions and insurance. Erin has also previously run her own asset management consulting business, leveraging experience gained earlier in her career as a consultant in financial services.
Erin currently serves on the board of directors for the Insured Retirement Institute (IRI) and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association (DCIIA). Erin earned a BA at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pa, and holds Series 7, 24, 63 and 65 licenses. Earlier in her career, she served on the board of directors for Financial Data Services, a subsidiary of Bank of America Merrill Lynch and was a founding member of the SIFMA Mutual Fund and ETF Roundtable.
