DCIIA'S Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Mission Statement

At DCIIA, our mission is, "To provide a forum for industry participants to enhance the employer-based DC system, emphasizing access, innovation, best practices and institutional approaches, with the goal of improving financial security for America’s workers.” We recognize and affirm the importance of diversity and inclusion in working together to further our aims in this regard.

Diverse Speakers Bureau

DCIIA is committed to featuring a diverse array of speakers at our in-person and virtual events. If you have diverse speakers to suggest who are experts on retirement-related topics, investing, or diversity, equity and inclusion, please email them to Karen Witham, DCIIA staff liaison for DE&I initiatives, via info@dciia.org.  

 

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee

This committee was created to:

  • Explore ways that DCIIA can increase awareness and visibility of DE&I in the DC industry
  • Promote understanding around the different ways DE&I can be achieved among its members
  • Ensure DCIIA is intentional about DE&I in its own activities, and to ensure DCIIA leverages industry partners to achieve its objectives
  • Ensure that the retirement savings system is as inclusive as possible

Chief Diversity Officer Advisory Council  

The Council includes chief diversity officers from member firms along with the DE&I committee chair and vice-chair and DCIIA staff. The Council provides strategic input for DCIIA's DE&I efforts as well as collaborating on DE&I initiatives and helping DCIIA to further its DE&I mission and goals. See our Council members.

McKinsey / LeanIn “Women in the Workplace” Study

In 2019, DCIIA became an industry champion for this study, encouraging our members to consider submitting data to help boost representation of our industry within the broader study.
