Statement Regarding COVID-19 and DCIIA Events

We are closely monitoring Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other guidance on Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). On March 15, the CDC released the following statement regarding the COVID-19 pandemic: “CDC, in accordance with its guidance for large events and mass gatherings, recommends that for the next 8 weeks, organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States.”

In light of this guidance and ongoing discussions regarding our spring events, we are postponing the following:

DCIIA/SPARK Public Policy Forum, April 30th: We are in ongoing conversations with SPARK as we look at ways to combine topics and events with the DCIIA/SPARK Global Forum June 23-24 (also in Washington, DC).

Diversity & Inclusion Awards dinner, April 29th: We anticipate that this will be rescheduled as a wrap-around event at the June Forum.

Ambassador events in Chicago, Philadelphia, and San Francisco (April/May): We're working with our member hosts to reschedule these events.

Those who are currently registered for these events will be updated when we have additional details, and we will continue to share news and updates with all members as things unfold. We encourage you to keep an eye out for email updates from DCIIA and bookmark this statement, which we will update if/as needed.

We also suggest that you monitor the CDC’s COVID-19 website.
