DCIIA is seeking a full-time Director of Membership Development. This position is responsible for supporting the growth, engagement and retention of DCIIA’s membership.

Who We Are

DCIIA is a non-profit membership association of the leaders of the defined contribution community. We are dedicated to enhancing the retirement security of American workers by improving defined contribution outcomes. Members include investment managers, consultants, record keepers, insurance companies, plan sponsors and others committed to the best interests of plan participants. DCIIA was formed in 2010 and has grown to over 160 industry member companies.
 

Position Description & Responsibilities


• This position reports to DCIIA’s COO
• Partner with the CEO and COO to provide overall direction for new member development strategy, including assessing, designing and building the approach to grow our membership
• Partner with the COO on pipeline development and lead generation activities
• Monitor, evaluate and identify prospective members
• Develop member and prospective member relationships
• Keep abreast of industry developments, trends, changes and opportunities; monitor the competitive environment
• Develop member outreach strategies to encourage greater member participation at DCIIA events and in key Committees and Task Forces
• Support the VP of Committees & Projects, as needed, which may include attending Committee meetings, taking meeting minutes, assisting on Committee projects, running webinars, developing PowerPoint presentations, etc.
• Manage day to day aspects of current and future member programs, projects and initiatives
• Analyze data on membership engagement and identify at-risk members; establish engagement plans and monitor success
• Track and analyze data related to member interactions with DCIIA and report results and trends to the Executive Committee
• Serve on the Nominating Committee and assist with the nomination of new Executive Committee members and Committee Chairs and Vice Chairs
• Support the VP of Communications on website design and content
• Support CEO and COO on DCIIA’s brand and image in the industry
• Various other activities as identified by the CEO and COO

Qualifications
• Experience working with volunteer organizations; strong multi-tasking skills
• Knowledge and experience in the financial services industry, investment management and/or the defined contribution marketplace is recommended
• Standard competencies for all DCIIA positions:

* Experience working with associations is recommended
* Customer (member) service orientation
* Strong relationship and consensus building skills required to work across multiple levels and diverse member companies
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proven ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork
* Strong planning, time management and organizational skills
* Must be self-disciplined yet sufficiently flexible to work with a virtual team
* Must be task oriented and a self-starter
* Able to work independently and proactively resolve day-to-day issues
* Must be a life-long learner
* Confident in proposing and implementing innovative ideas
* Comfortable managing your own technology needs and learning new technology tools

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint); recommended experience in CRM, back-end website coordination and virtual meeting management tools

Work Environment:
• DCIIA has a small internal team composed of employees and independent consultants
• Team members work remotely from locations of their choosing; DCIIA does not provide office space
• Team members use their own computer, telephone and office equipment
• Limited travel required to assist and host members at 3-4 annual forums (as well as additional local networking events as needed)
• Must be comfortable working independently and using technology to collaborate with team members
